Understanding CBD

For those new to CBD, the lingo at times can be tricky. I remember my father, who never smoked pot in his life, asking me to help him make sense of it all. Nothing was making a dent in his arthritis and he turned to CBD for relief. However, between his confusion over which product to buy and a store clerk more concerned with profit than patience. He's not alone. Many look to CBD for relief from pain, anxiety, insomnia and a litany of other ailments every day without knowing where to start. Thats why I wanted to provide some helpful verbiage and tips so you, our readers, don't suffer the same fate as my dad did.

Full Spectrum: While CBD and THC are the two most famous of the cannabinoids in hemp and cannabis, they are only two of over one hundred cannabinoids that make up what is known as the entourage effect. While each cannabinoid, along with terpenes and flavanoids  group together they provide the perfect balance to give you the best possible cbd experience.

Endocannabinoid System- The ECS regulates and controls many of our most critical bodily functions such as learning and memory, emotional processing, sleep, temperature control, pain control, inflammatory and immune responses, and eating via a series of receptors. CBD slows the breakdown of these endocannabinoids, allowing them to act more effectively in the body.

Categories of CBD products-

CBD oil- CBD can be extracted into oil, often sold in the form of a tincture. This oil is preferred by many for its fast absorption, especially when used sublingually, and held under the tongue before swallowing. The oils are fantastic to use to treat anxiety, pain, nausea and sleeplessness.

Edibles- CBD edibles can come in the form of candy, baked goods or cooking oils. While many prefer these due to their flavor and discrete nature, edibles do take substantially longer to digest and become active in ones system.

Vape Cartridges- For those looking for immediate relief vaping is the answer. Vapes range in CBD content and can be just CBD or full spectrum. This allows for more controlled dosages as well as discreet use as vapes usually don't leave a lingering smell.

Topical- Topical CBD is usually a cream that is made to be applied to the skin. It is a targeted treatment meant to remedy muscle aches and pains, and is the perfect cbd choice for those recovering from injury.
